World Rally 2008 Review DVD
The Official Review of the 2008 FIA World Rally Championship brings you action and drama from all 15 rounds of what proved to be a truly record-breaking season, packed with thrills, spills and spectacular skills.
Citroen superstar Sebastien Loeb not only claimed a record-breaking fifth World Rally Championship title, he also re-wrote the record book along way, including becoming the first driver in WRC history to win 11 events in one season, win the same event seven times in a row, the first to win the Monte-Carlo rally five times and in Argentina four times.
He dominated the 2008 season, proving his skills in all conditions and on every terrain.
Loeb wasn't the only record-breaker. Title rival Mikko Hirvonen, who headed the championship battle early in the season, became the first driver to score points in every single round. Ford teammate Jari-Matti Latvala also claimed his place in history when he became the youngest person ever to win a WRC event.
The best camera angles, plus plenty of on-board and in-car footage, bring you all the vital action, controversy and shocking smashes from another dramatic season. The bizarre head-on crash which forced Loeb out of the inaugural Jordan rally, Gigi Galli's leg-breaking smash, the demanding frozen stages of Rally GB, the exceptional consistency of Hirvonen on snow, gravel, tarmac, ice and mud - every essential moment is here.
This was also the year the WRC bid a fond farewell to an icon - the Subaru Impreza saloon which had been a popular fixture for 15 years. At the Acropolis Rally the familiar Impreza was replaced by the new-look hatchback version, and we join team boss David Richards and drivers Chris Atkinson and Petter Solberg for a close-up look at the new challenger, as well as a look back at its predecessor.
