( number of products: 6 )Our HANS devices come from Stand21: head and neck restraints with a 20-degree angle, designed to protect the driver in a frontal impact. Alongside them you will find Bell HANS/Hybrid clips, which attach the restraint's tethers to a Bell helmet. The 20-degree angle of the Stand21 devices suits a fairly upright seating position, which is typical of rally cars. Selected Stand21 devices are homologated to FIA 8858-2010, the FIA standard for frontal head restraints.
The Bell clips are replacement parts for Bell helmets and fit both HANS and Hybrid restraints.

What is the HANS system in F1?
HANS stands for Head and Neck Support. The collar rests on the driver's shoulders and is tethered to the helmet, limiting how far the head can move forward in a frontal impact. Frontal head restraints of this kind are compulsory in Formula 1.
