Choosing seat frames, mounts and pads
OMP side seat mounting frames come in aluminium or steel, each in 400 mm and 495 mm lengths. The OMP range also includes a lower aluminium frame, a side frame with a damper, a pair of flat brackets, a universal weld-in frame and side mount brackets.
Sparco offers side mount brackets in aluminium and steel, a steel side mount, a side mount base adapter and a universal bottom mount, as well as frames designed for particular Sparco seats. Its car-specific frames cover makes including Fiat, Ford, Mitsubishi and Subaru. Most come as separate left and right versions, so check which side you are ordering.
For setting the driving position, both brands supply seat sliders, with Sparco's made of steel. OMP adds a height adjustment spacer, a seat mount adapter and a seat mounting bolt kit.
On the padding side, Sparco seat pad kits are matched to specific Sparco seats, alongside Sparco Alcantara seat pads, lumbar pads and off-road pads in low and high versions. OMP contributes a leg support pad, plus side and top belt guides that keep the harness straps in position.

What is the difference between a car-specific and a universal seat frame?
A car-specific Sparco frame is made to bolt to the seat mounting points of one particular model, so check the generation and body style carefully: some frames are split by version or by number of doors. For other cars, the alternatives are a universal bottom mount or the OMP weld-in frame, which has to be welded into the car.
What does a seat mounting kit for a rally car include?
A typical set-up has a pair of side mount brackets fixed to the seat, plus a frame or base that attaches them to the car, together with the bolts. Sliders or a height spacer are optional if you need to adjust the position. For competition use, follow the mounting requirements in your series regulations and the seat manufacturer's instructions.
