Choosing a Sparco racing seat
Several model families come in both regular and carbon versions. Carbon fibre is used mainly to save weight, which counts most in cars built close to their minimum weight limit. Fit matters as much as material. A seat should hold you firmly through corners without pinching, and the L and XL versions give larger drivers a roomier shell than the standard size.
Shell shapes also differ between manufacturers, so it is worth comparing Sparco with OMP seats and Sabelt seats, or browsing all seats from every brand in one place. A racing seat is bolted to the car with side mounts and, in most cars, a base frame or runners matched to the floor. For fitting hardware, see mounts and accessories. Seat, harness and mounts work as one system, so it pays to plan them together. In competition, the regulations also cover how the seat is mounted, so read your series rules before installation.
Top Racing Shop ships worldwide and sells only original, officially licensed merchandise, backed by 20 years of experience in motorsport.
Are Sparco seats FIA homologated?
Most of them are. Events run under FIA or national federation regulations generally require a homologated seat. Every homologated seat carries a label showing the standard it meets and how long the homologation remains valid, and scrutineers check it at technical inspection. Before buying for competition, make sure both the standard and the validity period comply with your championship's technical regulations. A few models do not show the marking in their name, so check the product page if you need one for competition.
