FIA-approved versions are available for hooks, eyes and straps. Sparco tow hooks come in several colour versions, and the Martini Racing motif also appears among the FIA-approved options.
Choosing a tow hook, tow eye or tow strap
The range covers three types of towing point: tow hooks from OMP Racing and Sparco, tow eyes from Sparco and tow straps from OMP. If the regulations of your series call for an FIA-approved towing point, choose a product marked FIA. FIA-marked options are available from both brands and cover hooks, eyes and straps.
Size is the second thing to check. Sparco tow eyes come in 50 mm and 80 mm versions, Sparco also offers 80 mm tow hooks, and OMP lists its hooks with dimensions in millimetres, including flat 6 mm hooks. Check these figures against the mounting point on your car before you order.
Colour matters too. A brightly coloured towing point is easier for marshals to spot when a stranded car has to be recovered quickly.
