Choosing karting gloves
The gloves in this category come from Alpinestars, OMP Racing and Sparco, and each of these manufacturers offers more than one karting glove design. When comparing them, look first at homologation and the conditions you drive in, then at fit and design.
FIA 8877-2022 homologation
Selected OMP and Sparco karting gloves are homologated to FIA 8877-2022, the FIA standard for karting protective clothing, and most of them carry the standard number in their name. Championships set their own equipment rules, so if you race in a series, check its regulations to see which homologation it requires before you buy. You'll find the homologation details on each product page.
Gloves for wet sessions
If you often drive in the wet, OMP makes rain gloves for karting. They make sense as a second pair, kept in your kit bag alongside the gloves you use in dry conditions.
What MY means in glove names
Many OMP and Sparco glove names include MY followed by two digits. MY stands for model year and marks the version of a glove family, so two pairs from the same family with different MY markings are not identical products.
Karting or car racing
Karting gloves are a separate category from car racing gloves, which are chosen to the FIA standard for fire-resistant clothing used in car racing. If you also race cars, browse the full race gloves section. To stay with one manufacturer, see Alpinestars race gloves, OMP race gloves or Sparco race gloves, where each brand's gloves are listed together.
