RACE SUITS
( number of products: 225 )Here you'll find racing suits from Sparco, OMP and Alpinestars for both car racing and karting. The range includes FIA-homologated race suits, karting suits carrying an FIA or CIK marking, and karting rain suits and rain jackets for wet sessions. There are also kids' suits, as well as women's race suits and women's karting suits from Sparco.
Choosing a racing suit
Start with the discipline. Most of the suits for car racing are FIA homologated, and all three brands offer them. Among Sparco race suits you'll find suits in Gulf and Martini Racing liveries, along with an FIA-homologated race jacket and race trousers sold as separate pieces. OMP race suits cover car racing as well as karting, including kids' karting suits. From Alpinestars there are FIA-homologated suits for both cars and karts, plus suits for indoor karting, all in Alpinestars race suits.
Karting has its own homologation system. Depending on the model, karting suits carry an FIA or a CIK marking, so check which one your championship accepts before you order. Karting rain suits from Alpinestars, OMP and Sparco and rain jackets from OMP and Sparco go over the karting suit rather than replacing it.
Completing your kit
In FIA-sanctioned car racing, a homologated suit is normally worn with fireproof underwear. Next come race boots, race gloves and helmets. Karting drivers can also look through our protective gear, and pit crews will find their kit in the section for mechanics. All equipment for the driver is gathered in driver gear.

What is the difference between a karting suit and a racing suit?
They protect against different risks. A suit for car racing is built mainly to protect against fire, and that is what its FIA homologation tests. A karting suit is designed above all to resist abrasion, because the main danger in a kart is sliding across the track surface in a crash. A karting suit is therefore no substitute for a homologated race suit in car racing.
Are there racing suits for kids?
Yes. OMP and Sparco make kids' karting suits, many of them with an FIA or CIK marking, and kids' karting rain suits come from Alpinestars, OMP and Sparco. The category also includes kids' mechanics suits from OMP.
