FIA homologation

For competition use, check homologation first. Most OMP models are FIA homologated, as are many Sparco models and selected Alpinestars race boots. On the OMP side this includes some of the kids' shoes, so young drivers have homologated options too.

What each brand offers

The Sparco race boots make up the largest part of the range. Alongside FIA-homologated shoes there are leather and suede versions, waterproof shoes and short rainproof overshoes. Sparco also offers shoes in licensed motorsport designs, including Martini Racing, Gulf, Ford Performance and Red Bull Racing, and some of the Martini Racing and Gulf pairs are FIA homologated.

Among the OMP race boots, FIA-homologated models are the majority. OMP also makes kids' shoes, sold alongside the adult versions, as well as rainproof overshoes.

Completing your kit

For a homologated event, pair your shoes with race suits, fireproof underwear and race gloves that meet the same requirements, and add one of our helmets. Everything else for the driver is in the driver gear section, while pit crews will find more kit for mechanics.

What does FIA homologation mean for racing shoes?

FIA-homologated shoes have been tested to an FIA standard for drivers' protective clothing and carry a label showing it. Which standard is accepted depends on your championship regulations, so compare the requirement with the standard given on the product page before you buy.

What shoes do race mechanics wear?

Both Alpinestars and Sparco make dedicated mechanics' shoes, and some of them are FIA homologated. The Sparco selection also includes a pair in Martini Racing design.
