RACE GLOVES

( number of products: 204 )

This section brings together racing gloves for car and kart drivers, with FIA-homologated models among both the Sparco race gloves and the OMP race gloves. You will also find Alpinestars race gloves, mechanics' gloves, gaming gloves for sim racing and Sparco gloves with Martini Racing and Gulf motifs.

Choosing racing gloves

The regulations of your series come first. Many of the OMP and Sparco gloves in this section are FIA-homologated, and some from both brands carry the FIA 8877-2022 standard. Different FIA standards cover different uses, so compare the full designation on the glove with the wording in your rulebook rather than relying on the letters FIA alone.

For kart racing, go straight to the karting gloves subcategory.

The section also covers mechanics' gloves from OMP and Sparco, and some of them are FIA-homologated. Overalls and the rest of the kit for the crew are in the for mechanics section.

Sparco gaming gloves are made for drivers who train or race on a simulator, and further equipment for virtual driving is in the sim racing section. The Sparco gloves with Martini Racing and Gulf motifs are FIA-homologated too, so they are suitable for competition as well as for fans of these classic liveries.

Gloves are one part of a driver's safety kit. The outer layer is in our race suits section, and the layer worn beneath it is listed under fireproof underwear. For feet and head, see race boots and helmets. Everything for drivers is collected in driver gear.

What gloves do Formula One drivers wear?

F1 drivers race in FIA-homologated gloves made to order in their team's design. Each pair has a built-in biometric sensor that sends the driver's vital signs to the medical team after an accident.

How are racing gloves different from ordinary driving gloves?

Everyday driving gloves are made for comfort and grip on the road. Gloves for competition also protect the hands in a fire. FIA homologation confirms that a glove has passed tests for flame resistance and heat transfer, which is why series run under FIA rules require it.
