The Alpinestars Race V3 Balaclava is a fire-resistant under-helmet balaclava built to Formula 1 specification. It carries FIA 8856-2018 homologation and SFI 3.3 certification, so it meets the requirements of regulations based on either standard.

With the Race V3, Alpinestars has focused on low weight and a thin fabric. The balaclava is very light and soft to the touch, so it does not add a bulky extra layer under your helmet and race suit. The black version comes in two sizes, chosen by head circumference.

A closer look at the balaclava

The base colour is a deep black. The side and rear panels have a mélange, graphite-toned knit texture that clearly stands out from the smoother front. The brand's white star logo sits on the forehead and below the face opening. The balaclava has a single wide, shaped eye opening, and at mouth level a small round opening for a drinking tube. The lower part extends down over the neck, so you can tuck it under your race suit. A white homologation label is placed on the front of this section.
