Choosing racing car equipment

Many of the seats are FIA homologated bucket seats from Sparco, OMP Racing and Sabelt, including carbon shells and XL sizes. A seat also needs mounting hardware. Options include side mounts and brackets, seat sliders, universal weld-in frames and Sparco seat mounting frames made for specific cars from Audi, Ford, Porsche, Subaru and more. Seat pad kits are available for selected seats, alongside lumbar pads, and OMP also makes karting seats.

The harnesses come in 3-, 4- and 6-point versions. The 6-point harnesses and some 4-point ones are FIA homologated, while most 3- and 4-point harnesses carry ECE approval. ECE approval applies to belts for road vehicles, whereas competition regulations normally call for an FIA homologated harness. Sabelt ECE harnesses come in bolt-on and snap hook versions, and some 6-point harnesses are offered in pull up and pull down versions, which differ in the direction you pull to tighten the lap belt. Shoulder pads come from Sparco, OMP and Sabelt, including 2" and 3" widths and Sparco pads in Martini Racing colours.

Among the steering wheels there are suede, leather and polyurethane rims, including rally wheels. To fit an aftermarket wheel you will need a hub matched to your car. Sparco and Momo hubs cover BMW, Fiat, Renault, Toyota and more. Quick releases come in bolt-on and weld-on versions, Sparco also offers one with FIA homologation, and OMP spacers range from 20 to 100 mm.

The fire extinguishing systems include hand-held powder, AFFF and stainless steel extinguishers, plus electric and fire suppression systems from Sparco. For smaller fittings, browse the accessories. Which Sparco pedal covers are available?

Sparco pedal pads come in a carbon version and in standard and long variants. OMP adds long pads for the accelerator and pad sets for cars with an automatic gearbox.
