Choosing a racing steering wheel
Suede is the most common rim finish in this category, and every Sabelt wheel has a suede rim. Several Sparco and OMP shapes are made in both suede and leather, so you can decide on the shape first and then choose the finish. Sparco offers the widest selection of shapes.
Hubs, quick releases and spacers
A racing steering wheel is mounted on the steering column via a hub made for a specific make and model of car. Sparco hubs cover makes including Alfa Romeo, BMW, Honda and Subaru, and Momo hubs fit selected BMW, Renault and Toyota models. Each hub's name gives the car it is made for, sometimes down to the model generation, so check that it matches your car before ordering.
A quick release lets you remove the wheel in moments, which makes getting in and out of a tight cockpit easier. Quick releases from OMP, Sabelt and Sparco include bolt-on and weld-on versions: a bolt-on unit is fixed to the hub with bolts, while a weld-on unit is welded to the steering shaft. Sparco spacers move the wheel closer to the driver. All of these parts are grouped under hubs and quick releases.
